Bucknell Humanities Center

The Bucknell Humanities Center requested a poster from Professor Eddy Lopez’s Graphic Design class, and we put up our posters for the pick. I started by thinking about how so many of the classes that the Humanities offered are crosslisted, and thought, what better way to show off the Humanities of Bucknell than showcasing how interrelated they were? I took inspiration from crosswords and used the subject codes to form the words. This design is intended to inspire students who see this poster to look for the code of either their major or a memorable class they took.

Set Design for August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson

Designing a set for August Wilson’s 1987 play “The Piano Lesson, set in Pittsburgh in the early 1930s. Working in conjunction with Director Mical Whitaker, I designed a set that highlighted the interactions between the human and the supernatural, and highlight the ghostly elements of the play.

Print Design

We, as a class, worked on creating a magazine highlighting businesses on Market Street in Lewisburg PA. For my business, I chose to highlight one of the most beloved businesses, Cathy’s Hair Gallery. I interviewed the her and talked about how she wanted to be represented, and I decided on a nostalgic neon theme reminiscent of old cyberpunk themes to show nostalgia and a sense of the future, just not quite what she imagined.

A better world is possible

Working with Green New Deal Lewisburg, the local Sunrise chapter, I designed a yard sign around a chosen phrase, voted on by the members. The winning phrase was “a better world is possible,” originally meant to be a primarily environmental statement, but changed directions after the the Black Lives Matter protests gained traction in the summer of 2020. This design is meant to be as simple as possible, and to encourage people to speak up.

C.A.L.V.I.N. & H.O.B.B.E.S. 25th Anniversary

For Calvin and Hobbes’ 25th Anniversary, I designed a logo to go on the front of the shirt that we would offer to all club members. The logo was made with elements of the comics that overlapped with the club culture and in-jokes of the recipients.
