Photography

As an artist, I think that most of my work comes from introspection, and in my work, I try to relate to various cultural memories. I think that my personal trauma is one of my preferred subjects, which sounds a bit dark (which I admit, it is,) but as Florence Welch sings, “I find that happiness is an extremely uneventful subject.”

Moment to Moment

“The Photograph mechanically repeats what could never be repeated existentially” – Camera Lucida, Roland Barthes
What if we overlaid another moment in front of which has been reproduced, naturally or artificially?
We keep photographs for a reason to look through them again.
How can I capture that feeling that’s in my head?

Intimate Facelessness

A performance piece, photos taken in sets of four within a twenty four hour period, looking at human emotions, amplified through the lens.

Gods

Take a look at how Greek archetypes (in the form of mythological qualities) manifest in ourselves at homes, a self reflection on being quarantined during COVID.

Heartbreak Highlights

A piece created in the face of heartbreak, looking at specific moments and elements of broken imagined futures. How do you convey a sense of heartbreak, but also show hopes for a different future?

Taken in medium format film, later adapted to digital format.

Apartment Summer Life

Another piece set in quarantine, looking at the difference between aspirations and reality. We make so many plans to be productive and in the end, end up not doing it in the name of something that catches our attention more.
